This might be the most-recognized radicchio. It is the most common variety found in grocery stores. Round with red leaves and white stems, this is a standard for use in salad mixes, roasting and in risottos. Chioggia Radicchio is easy to find at Farmers Markets and grocery stores year-round. Fun fact: Chioggia refers to the town of Chioggia in north-easter Italy, in the region where this variety originated.
