Sugarloaf Radicchio

A green escarole that grows in dense, upright heads, you might mistake this for a dense romaine lettuce! Sugarloaf is mildly bitter and the blanched leafs of the heart are tender and mild. Excellent served with hot oil dressings, croutons and cheese. Also perfect for grilling or braising. Fun fact: Known as Pain de Sucre in France, this chicory has a sweetness that complements its bitterness.
